Healthy Lettuce Wrap Tacos



Many people love Mexican food. Tacos, taco salads and nachos are full-flavored and delicious. Problem is, Americans tend to smother Mexican food with cheeses, refried beans, and sour cream. It has been "Americanized", and it is not a good thing. Mexican traditional food isn't topped with gooey, fatty cheese. It's usually much simpler and lighter, but it still has a strong flavor. Mexican dishes often include a variety of fresh salsas and freshly made guacamole. Not a staple are beans, cheese, and sour-cream. The lettuce wrap tacos are made without the beans, sour cream, or tortillas. You can add cheese if you Wild Lettuce Extract wish. You can also make your own taco seasoning. This recipe is delicious and most likely already have the ingredients in your spice cupboard. These tacos are full of flavor, but lighter in calories and carbs.


This recipe is great for anyone who is low-carb, paleo, or grain-free.


Our preference is to use organic ingredients in our recipes. It is up to you to decide what your preferences are.


Serves 2 - 3.


What you need to make tacos


4-8 lettuce wraps, depending on how many pieces you choose to use per taco


1 lb grass-fed beef


1 medium - large tomato chopped


1/2 small diced yellow onion


1/2 small diced jalapeno (optional if desired spice)


1 avocado


1/2 cup mexican-style cheese mix (optional).


1/2 cup cilantro leaves chopped


Salt + pepper to taste


What you need for Taco Seasoning


1 teaspoon cumin


1 teaspoon chili powder


1 teaspoon red pepper


1 teaspoon sea salt


1 teaspoon smoked black pepper corns or fresh cracked black pepper


1 clove minced or finely chopped garlic


How to Make Tacos

Mix together tomato, onion, and jalapeno. Salt and pepper to taste.

Separate lettuce leaves.

Mix taco seasoning.

Brown the beef and continue cooking. Add taco seasoning. Mix in a tablespoon or two of water to moisten if the mixture is too dry.

Mash avocado in bowl. Add salt and pepper to your preference.

Make tacos by assembling them and topping with the onion/tomato mixture and cilantro. If you are using cheese, sprinkle cheese on top
